Stinkhorn (Phallus impudicus)

I found this fantastic looking fungi on a visit to the New Forest in England. At this stage the conical olive green head gives off a smell of drains which attracts the flies who will eat the green slime and leave a white honeycomb head.
This is just one of a few new fungi I had never seen before and more than enough to encourage me to book a holiday for the same time next year. Hopefully with a little less rain next year. Many thanks to my wife Barb who held the umbrella over me while I took the photo's. I would have really struggled without her.
